give up.

Left.  Right.  Her shoulder popped.  Screams.  She powered down the wall, dragging her with her and leaving a cavity in the face of the wall, her breaking body tossed to the side as she touched the ground.

Dark, red drips fell slowly off the edge of the wall, pooling beside her legs.

"Wake.  Wake."

She was standing over her, hand outstretched, the tips of her fingers still tinged red.  The other hand clasped a black towel.  Faint sensation came back.

She opened her eyes, hands cracking as they returned to their former positions.  The blood trickled down her throat.

"Again."

She stood.

this day is mine - 1.0

"But David, how are you so sure you own this day? Can it be you found the tear?"

"Why yes, oh nameless one to whom I give my love. You see, in this world, there are people who would take much enjoyment in testing the efficiency of different various objects. I call these people the scum of the Earth. I shall beat up one of them in real time for you now.  Oh, he ran away. That's sad for my body. Let me explain the tear. When a dolphin cries, his intelligence gets leaked out into each individual tear. Now as you know, the dolphin contains within itself the souls of the damned. Every day they plot to kill us all with their minds, but they cannot do so without opposable thumbs. This is a problem for them. One day, as I was taking my daily stroll along the beaches of Maui, I came across a beached whale. He told me the secret coven of the League of villanous dolphins. LVD for short. I set out on my journey..."

once upon a time.

Once upon a time, I promised them forever.  I promised to never leave this life that I knew.

Then I began to dream and, in dreaming, my heart changed.  I left the “had been” for the “could be.”  I left them behind for what my dreams promised me.

I’ve always been told that the unknown is sweeter than what you’ve tasted.  I hold to that promise like you held onto me.

that guy.

"Mirrors, mirrors, everywhere, staring at him, mocking him with their repetitive reflections of his sins. Every corner, every street, every person, every eye reminding him of who he is, what he has become. The fact that he has lost his way only strengthens his interaction with unknown faces scrutinizing his every move watching his potential noting the probability of him committing a crime. Should he give them a reason to judge, to assume, to be hypocritical in their own sea of guilt? Or should he prove to them that they're no better, they have no reason, no excuse. Everyone has the potential. Everyone has the same amount of probability, the same amount of motive, the same minds. Just one slip up, just one wrong move. Just one bad day. Are they really worth anything in his solipsistic state of mind? Or can he be rid of them with a blink of an eye. Should he care? Should he give? Should he love? Have they suffered the same amount of slings and arrows that he has been through? Or have they been through much worse? Time, time, time....only time will tell. Time to observe, time to learn, time to grow. Sadly, he does not have the power to willingly sit back and observe every single millisecond of their lives. All he has is his own life. Live it out, or waste it all. Should he become one with them, or can he prove himself bigger than that? Only time will tell....time, time, time...."
